A moment of brilliance from Sanan Mohammed was enough for Jamshedpur FC to grind out a 1-0 win over Indian Army FT in a high-intensity Group C clash of the 134th IndianOil Durand Cup.

This win takes Khalid Jamil’s side to six points from two matches, putting them firmly in the driver's seat for a spot in the knockout stages.

Despite being the better side for large parts of the match, Indian Army FT couldn’t convert their chances. Samir Murmu, back against his former ISL team, and Samananda Singh came close in the first 15 minutes, but the Red Miners' defense held on. Goalkeeper Amrit Gope was in fine form, producing key saves including a fingertip effort just before half-time.

The breakthrough came in the 52nd minute. A trademark long throw-in routine led to Karthik Choudhary flicking the ball into the danger area, where Sanan Mohammed chested it down and calmly slotted it past the keeper.

Jamshedpur FC took better control after the goal, but Indian Army kept pushing. Liton Shil’s thunderous strike that rattled the crossbar was the closest they came to equalising.

Tensions boiled over in the dying minutes as Indian Army keeper Sayad Bin Abdul Kadir was sent off for a foul on Jayesh Rane outside the box. With no substitutions left, defender Samananda Singh donned the gloves for the final minutes.

Suhair almost made it 2-0 with another shot bouncing off the crossbar, but the scoreline stayed intact as Jamshedpur held on for a massive win in front of their home fans.
