The Supreme Court has ordered the All India Football Federation to initiate an open tender process for ISL and Super Cup 2025–26 commercial rights, supervised by Justice L. Nageswara Rao, with a deadline of October 15, 2025. The Court acknowledged FSDL’s cooperation and postponed its ruling on AIFF’s draft constitution pending the National Sports Governance Act.

The AIFF convened a meeting with ISL clubs and FSDL representatives on August 7 to outline the 2025–26 season structure. A key proposal was hosting the Super Cup before the ISL, ensuring season completion by May 31 and preserving AFC competition eligibility.
